CURRENT ACADEMIC STATUS AND EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND Lecturer and academic professional with a multidisciplinary background spanning healthcare systems management, bioethics, health law, and organizational development. Holds a Master of Science in Health Systems Management from Rush University (USA) and a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences with a minor in Linguistics from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale (USA). Certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR – HRCI). Completed advanced training in TESOL and instructional design. Academic and professional experience developed across the United States and the Western Balkans, with a strong focus on healthcare innovation, ethics, and institutional capacity building.
POSITION Current positions include Business Development Director of the Barleti Medical Group (BMG), Director of the Stamina Health Innovation Hub, EIT Partnerships Coordinator, Project Coordinator of the PEARL Lab project and a current Lecturer in the Faculty of Medical Sciences. Responsibilities include overseeing healthcare innovation, international collaboration, project coordination, and strategic alignment with research and innovation objectives. Held previous role of Project Director for Barleti Medical Group, where she led the establishment of the Barleti Medical Group, the Barleti University Polyclinic, and Home Health Agency.
CONTRIBUTIONS Academic and professional contributions focus on ethical healthcare practice, patient rights, health law, and responsible innovation in healthcare systems. Co-author of two peer-reviewed scientific publications indexed in Scopus, addressing end-of-life decision-making, patient autonomy, and ethical challenges in healthcare policy in Albania. Contributor to international conferences and academic seminars on health law, ethics, digital health, and sustainability. As Director of Stamina, drives healthcare and biotechnology innovation, incubating new technologies and fostering national and international partnerships. Established and oversees formal and informal partnerships with several EIT KICs. Leads the international PEARL Lab project, coordinating research, peer-learning, and innovation activities across multiple international partners.
ACTIVE ENGAGEMENT AND DEVELOPMENTAL AREAS OF INTEREST Actively engaged in the development of healthcare providers, healthcare innovation ecosystems, living labs, and responsible research and innovation (RRI/ORRI) frameworks. Current interests include digital health transformation, MedTech devices and tools, AI ethics, ethical patient engagement, health innovation governance, sustainability in healthcare systems, and interdisciplinary collaboration between universities, healthcare providers, and industry. Participates in national and international academic networks and EU-funded project initiatives related to healthcare innovation, ethics, and capacity building.
